DOJ quietly deletes study on far-right extremists; Trump announces Republican convention ahead of midterms: Media Miss Minute

In this Media Miss Minute, the Department of Justice deleted its own study showing which side is more likely to commit politically-motivated violence. And Republicans are getting ready to hold a convention ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Media Miss by the right: DOJ pulls study showing right-wing violence outpaces Left

The Trump administration’s Department of Justice has removed a study from its website that found far-right extremists are responsible for more “ideologically motivated” homicides than far-left or Islamist extremists.

The move comes as some Republicans, namely President Donald Trump, have spoken out about the harm the left has caused to our nation in the wake of the assassination of Republican political activist Charlie Kirk.

According to the study, “Since 1990, far-right extremists have committed far more ideologically motivated homicides than far-left or radical Islamist extremists, including 227 events that took more than 520 lives.”

Media Miss by the left: Republicans to hold convention ahead of 2026 midterm elections, Trump says

As the 2026 midterm elections near, the Republican Party is getting ready to host a convention, which Trump said will highlight GOP successes since the 2024 presidential election.

He had teased the idea of holding a convention weeks ago, but Trump made the announcement official in a post on his Truth Social platform Tuesday.

Democrats are reportedly considering a similar move.

The announcement comes amid a redistricting battle between both parties.
