Media Miss by the left: Republicans push back at Trump’s suggestion of 50-year mortgage term

As America faces a housing affordability crisis, Trump is raising concerns from within his own party after proposing a 50-year mortgage loan option.

Critics of the plan, like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., say longer mortgage terms would only reward banks and lenders, while Americans are stuck paying more in the long run because of interest.

In an interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, Trump brushed off those concerns.

“It’s not even a big deal,” he said.

He added, “All it means is you pay less per month, you pay it over a longer period of time.”

As a rule, longer-term loans tend to have higher interest rates because they’re riskier for lenders.

Media Miss by the right: Military officials express concern at Hegseth’s purges

Nearly two dozen current and  former U.S. military leaders are sounding the alarm over what they say is a political purge of military leadership under Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The 20 leaders say recent firings are weakening U.S. military readiness and have “created an atmosphere of anxiety and mistrust” among officers, according to a New York Times report.

They say the firings have been notably political or personal in nature. One example is the dismissal of individuals who served under former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley.

Trump handpicked Milley for the job during his first term, but their relationship has since soured.
